Vacation Rental Accommodation in Prague for Tourists

For decades the Czech Republic (formerly Czechoslovakia) was off limits to Westerners, obviously due to communism. But after the fall of the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia officially became a democracy. A few years later in 1993, the country was peacefully split into two separate nations, the independent Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Though it took several years for the nation to get on its feet, the Czech Republic has experienced an economic revival, which has encouraged tourists and foreign businessmen to visit the country in record numbers. No where is this more evident than in the country’s capital and largest city, Prague.

It comes as a surprise to many when they learn that Prague is currently the sixth most visited city in all of Europe. In fact, more than half of the income that the Czech Republic receives from tourism is spent in Prague. In the next couple of paragraphs we are going to discuss vacation rental accommodation in Prague .

If you have never stayed in a vacation rental, then Prague is the place to start looking. With the number of tourists at peak times of year, especially during the summer months, the hotels can get quite crowded and the rates understandably rise.

But vacation rentals, which are really nothing more than furnished apartments, are almost always available. The fees for these apartments is often twenty, even thirty per cent less than comparable hotel rooms. Rates can be even lower if you are planning an extended stay of more than a week.
